Home without harm. Everyone. Every day.

The health and safety of our people, clients and communities is central to all we do. It’s a commitment we uphold with pride and is the cornerstone of our reputation.

Our journey to 2zero

Freo Group’s goal is to operate in a workplace free from harm or loss.

To achieve this, we developed and implemented Freo Group’s Journey 2zero Road Map, which forms a targeted, coordinated approach to making safety an integral part of our culture and ensuring continuous improvement.

Our 2zero roadmap is built on the focus and work from previous years. The roadmap clarifies our vision that is easily understood and, more importantly, can be engaged in.

Our 2zero vision is simple and one that everyone at Freo Group can get behind.

Home without harm. Everyone. Every day.

For each project, we have specifically tailored a HSE Management Plan to ensure Freo Group meets all the relevant statutory requirements and standards. By doing so, Freo Group meets the specific projects requirements as well as ensuring the continuation of our safety-first culture.

These plans and systems are driven by key policies which have been formalised into management plans (HSE, Quality and HR/IR) using a risk based approach.  The policies in the plans are then provided to all employees as procedures and processes.  These include:

  • Safe Use of Cranes.
  • Hazard and Risk Management.
  • Onboarding.
  • Training and Competency.
  • Maintenance.

The roadmap is fully supported and led by our Leadership group.  It is also regularly measured and reported to all employees with full transparency.

Our Management System

Freo Group’s HSE Management system conforms to ISO 45001, with certification achieved in 2011. HSE is an extremely important aspect of our operation and our HSE Management plan ensures Freo Group meets all relevant statutory requirements and standards.

Our HSE Management plan has been approved and implemented across all client projects, ensuring the continuation of our safety-first culture.

Environmental Sustainability

Freo Group has achieved ISO 14001 accreditation. We endeavour to operate as an environmentally sustainable company.

This is demonstrated in our commitment to continuous policy and equipment improvement, along with procedures reducing noise and vehicle pollution.

At all times, Freo Group endeavours to:

  • Provide safe plant and systems of work to minimise pollution.
  • Relate appropriately to the environmental aspects of the company’s activities, products and services and their significant impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and current industry standards.
  • Provide a framework for the setting and establishment of measurable objectives and targets to ensure continued improvement.

Quality Assurance

Freo Group has an ISO 9001 accredited quality management system, certified in 1996. This certification is accompanied by a robust ‘Quality Management’ plan, driven by the dedicated Quality Manager.

The plan uses an integrated management system to incorporate all components of the business into one coherent system. This system adopts a ‘process model approach’ and is part of the continual improvement process. Employees at all levels use this system as a reference guide in all business process matters.
