We believe in being socially responsible and doing our part to better the communities in which we live and work at Freo Group. Our responsibilities extend beyond our staff and worksites to our local, Australian and international communities. As such, we are committed to set targets, actions and publicly report on what has been achieved.
Freo Group’s current progress and plans have been modelled using the principles outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These goals were adopted in 2015 by the United Nations as an agenda for sustainable development, to which Australia and 175 countries of the assembly aim to meet by 2030.
We have addressed several of the Charter’s targets through our current engagement plans, management systems and our discrimination free culture. Freo Group also participates in annual modern slavery reporting and engages with our suppliers to ensure compliance within our supply chain.
Our People
We are committed to ensuring our people are given every possible opportunity to grow and excel in their careers and self development. Our aim is to engage the best person to do the best possible job whilst remaining open-minded to every applicant. Through training and development, we aim to ensure respect, equality and inclusion are prioritised across our workforce.
Equal Opportunity
We are an equal opportunity employer. Freo Group provides training developments and initiatives that are focused on engaging female applicants to join the company at the ground level and nurturing them into future leaders.
Freo Group’s goal, within the next five years, is to have a workforce which includes at least 25% female employees. This aligns with the Australian Government’s target of 25% by 2025.
Indigenous Employment
We encourage indigenous participation throughout Freo Group, through training and development opportunities, delivered by our Indigenous Pathways program. Offering a variety of traineeships and apprenticeships tailored to suit indigenous employees.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The 17 goals set by the charter aim to ensure every human is provided with the opportunity to live in a peaceful world, free of poverty and hunger, with access to a healthy environment and with equal opportunity.
